Medal of Honor: Airborne is really fun. You can either complete your objectives or run around meleeing people. Decent graphics too.

Also, Asura's Wrath looks good as well.

If you're going for a good story, try Fahrenheit - Indigo prophecy, Warcraft 3 + TFT, Jedi Academy, Nexus - The Jupiter Incident, Mafia...
If you would like a good RTS, you should get any of the Total War products, Civilizations, Rise of Nations, Age of Empires/Mythology, Warcraft 3, Stronghold (original and crusader), European Wars - Cossacks, improbable Creatures (Quite a fun game, go to youtube to check it out), The Battle for Middle-Earth...
On the other hand if you are hoping to get a good shooter, go for any Serious Sam, Doom, Fear (This one is just for your nerves..), Re-do ALL fish, Jedi Academy (don't use your lightsaber), Star Wars Battlefront 1 or 2, Quake 3 arena, Unreal Tournament (any), Halo, Star Trek Elite Force 2 (It's not bad..), Mass Effect 1 and 2 (2 is better *intense laughter*)...
If you are up for some brainstorming, then Portal and QUBE.
If you are trying to find some cool games just to pass your time, go for LotR - Return of the king, again Portal, some custom maps in Warcraft 3 (Not DotA)..
Multiplayer games that you might find interesting are Warcraft 3, fish, Battlefield, Battlefront, Left4Dead, Heroes of Newerth (Dota game - Free), League of Legends (Dota Game - Free), Counter-Strike...
If you prefer RPGs then go for any of the following (beware, I don't play RPGs so I am not sure which ones are good) Dragon Age, Skyrim, Mass Effect 2 (played this one, great one), Darksiders (?), Kingdoms of Amalur - Reckoning...
Small games that should be played once are Plants vs Zombies, Chicked Invaders (all 4), Kerbal Space Program, Heavy Weapon Deluxe, Limbo (great one, but weird)...
And at long last, if you are more of a "finding the items" type, go for any Mystery Case Files (I suggest Return to RavenHearst).
Edit - all the games I didn't link, you can search them on gamespot or just in google.

What about the game that revolutionized the 3D game trend? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and if you feel like trying a more unusual title for Zelda games, try The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Both are on the Nintendo 64, have been ported to Gamecube in a limited edition copy of The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition, which also included a Wind Waker demo, the very first Legend of Zelda title, and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
They are also downloadable for the Wii on the Wii Shop Channel, if you have 1000 Wii download points for either of them, and, of course, own a Wii.
But if you don't wanna pay for it at all, get an emulator like Project64 1.6. You might want these updates (RDB & GameFAQ v1.6.016 and LangPack v1.6.05; be sure to read the install instructions) to the emulator as well. Then download either of these two: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Other nostalgic games of mine for the emulator:
Perfect Dark
Super Smash Bros.
GoldenEye 007
007 - The World is Not Enough
Now, I don't really know if it is legal to post these games, seeing as how they are commercial games made freely available. But most, if not all, of these games are not remade for later consoles. If any moderators or administrators think I should pull these down, let me know, and I will do so.

The N64 is really easy to emulate on today's standard PCs. So unless you still have the early hardware from say, prior to 2005, there should be little problem emulating these games.

Some team trying to remake on indiedb that..zelda game with better graphics, without emulator, with better gameplay and everything. But that game has many bugs right now.

And yet, I haven't seen any one of you get irritated with my constant obsession.
I don't see why Mima should be worried about talking about Freelancer. I haven't heard enough about it to know what it's about.
