I only know of one archive [Jzip] cannot open as of now: PK3 files. I use WinRAR for that.
I've already answered that question... Usually, reading entire posts help you look (or maybe become) more knowledgeable than people think you are.

PK3 = ZIP
It's just a renamed extension.

Then why can't Jzip open it?
I try opening it with Jzip and the program claims that it cannot open the archive.

Probably because it just sees the extension and never tries.
I've never actually heard of Jzip though.

It's been around for a few years.
EDIT: Are PK3 files still functionable if merely renaming the extension to ZIP?
EDIT #2: I experimented, and it seems you CAN rename the extension without repercussions.

Best solution, merely rename "file_name.PK3" to "file_name.ZIP" or "file_name.PK3.ZIP".
Eureka! No outside program needed.

The key that tricks WinRAR into thinking you have the full version....

If you open the archive with 7zip you can repack files without rename anything. Drag & drop.

I'm sorry for my unethical opinion, but why should I pay to add files to my computer!? I'm pretty sure I earned that when the PC was bought!
People don't just pay over 500 dollars to play solitare and paint pretty pictures...

Why would you want to do that. WinRAR works without that thing. Is 1 pop up really THAT discomforting?

Grega, I don't see the point of it myself, especially when I have a better alternative. I stick with Jzip, and so far the only thing it cannot open are PK3 files.
Solution: Rename PK3 to ZIP file, and it can be opened by any compression utility, even with the windows default!

I haven't even installed WinRAR, only using 7zip right now.
Even though, people use a "crack" if they really want to get rid of that popup, but it's just one click each time you open a file. :v

The best part is, that you don't even need to open a file to use the program. ^^

Yep. Explorer extensions are definitely the way to go. Most archive managers have supported this for a while, of course. I've used WinRar for about 13 years now (occasionally grabbing 7zip when I needed some über compression) and haven't purchased it nor had a nag screen in quite some time.

I said the same 1-2 year ago, but I realized if I use only the programs I really use than its better. that's why I won't use winrar anymore, I mean 7zip can do the same with better quality, the only thing in winrar which is better is the auto shutdown option.
