Well personally Mima to me it seems as if the forums is torn over this decision. Half think he did a good thing Half think he made a Richard move. I'm still interested in joining a clan but I want it to contribute in a way most other clans have not.

I just don't understand why this thing against clans has happened? This maybe Brad's site and his game but he can't expect or force someone who has no experience in these kind of things to contribute. Learning those things? Its a pain in the buttocks if you are not interested and you got other things to attend to.

okay 1. you quite literally just made a triple thread saying the exact same thing.
2. I agree with you.
I do want to join a clan that can contribute but honestly Zeth. Why MAKE us do something like this? You should know that many people on this game are just casual players who know nothing about C++ or Blender or 3D rendering. I am one of those people. So the though that you would MAKE them do that is beyond me. Many people playing the game are casual player simply looking for a good Dragon Ball Z game. They don't want to be forced to contribute they simply want to play a good Dragon Ball Z game. See if you noticed its only when the things between the and WS got out of hand that many admins and moderators began to step in. So in other words what will happen to those who have no prior experience in programming?

It's not about forcing anyone to do anything. It's what everyone should be doing naturally. You don't have to be a part of a clan to contribute. Our first dedicated texture artist was 13 when he joined ZEQ2 back in the day. We've had younger people do equally impressive things. Age and current skill set is irrelevant. Anyone can learn anything -- in a short amount of time as a matter of fact. Definitely not an excuse.

That's great to hear. When there actually IS such a game created from the current barebones, we'll be more than happy to support their play habits. Until then, EVERYONE'S focus should be unified. EVERYONE should be working towards the same goal of trying to finish the unfinished product rather than wasting time/energy/focus on playing and "mastering" something that's going to radically change in all ways in the near future.
See if you noticed its only when the things between the and WS got out of hand that many admins and moderators began to step in.
This matter does not relate to clans directly whatsoever. They were simply the vessel of a broader message to the community. There are a dozen more severe wake-up calls that could have been chosen, but were averted in favor of a staggered, lighter touch.
So in other words what will happen to those who have no prior experience in programming?
You don't need experience in programming (or any aspect of development) to learn or become involved actively in some way. The whole point is to re-channel that time investment and energy that is being wasted on playing an incomplete project into something more productive for everyone.

I have no intention of helping or contributing to this project since I have other work. So am I not allowed to play this game? am I not allowed to form or join groups while playing this game?
Need I remind you why the forums exist right now?
http://www.ZEQ2.com/lite/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1681&highlight=fund
Dark Demi paid the max amount and he did so cause he liked 'playing' Zeq2lite. I understand your role in this project and its development, yet that isn't the only thing to be taken into account.
The way you force things onto people is becoming a bit intolerable. The project may be yours but the forums really aren't. I understand your intentions behind your decisions and actions may be positive, however, you can merely formulate them into requests. Don't go around defining rules all by yourself.

That's not why the forum's exist. The site hosting and forums have existed long, long before that point and will exist long after. Trying to establish such power plays has consequences, Niels.
My role extends well beyond initial creation & development.
I have no intention of helping or contributing to this project since I have other work. So am I not allowed to play this game? am I not allowed to form or join groups while playing this game?
You are missing the point. It's not what you CAN do as much as what you SHOULD do. This recent set of events was about incentivizing the community and giving substance to its purpose. Don't be lazy, Niels. Even (/Especially) you have no excuses in this case by comparison. Don't try to contradict something that is so very obviously the right direction as well as the project's ENTIRE GOAL & DRIVE for making an initial public release at all.
This is out of your hands, out of your realm of knowledge, out of your scope of involvement, and out of your area of influence.

I'm not talking about the reason of the forums' existence in the past. That time you or your team members used to pay for it and hence you had the right to control it the way you want it. However this isn't the case in the present scenario. You are now having a minor share when you consider the monetary aspect(which I hope I don't have to explain is the most major aspect). The forums aren't your property(solely) and hence should not be influenced or governed by your or your project's whims and fancies.
Yes, I'm being offensive here cause I don't like being told what I should do. I'm a free individual and what I should do should be solely determined by me and the society norms. Also its more of a 'can' instead of 'should' cause you won't allow me to talk about clans and hence there is no decision on my part at all.
