it doesn't work right, when I search my older topics it won't find it, I do remember the public beta 1 engine working fine

Can you be more clear with your question? The forums are on a separate server now, but the search and other features should function fine.

It's just weird that he brings it up now. Is he referring to an issue with the new server and setup that the forums was recently migrated to? If not, it's quite irrelevant at the time being.

It is irrelevant but existent. I have had the same issue. Like when I searched up Trunks to find a model I used in the past, it did bring up a few things related to Trunks but the majority was unrelated (The topics anyways). I think the search function just searches for the specific word you type and not the thread name.

It is irrelevant but existent. I have had the same issue. Like when I searched up Trunks to find a model I used in the past, it did bring up a few things related to Trunks but the majority was unrelated (The topics anyways). I think the search function just searches for the specific word you type and not the thread name.
My questioning was WHY he was mentioning it NOW of all times. This has been a design flaw with the search function for years. Why would he just happen to mention it in the wake of other, REAL forum issues? It's misleading and easily confused as applicable.
The issue though is just the nature of phpbb2 search functions. It's not terribly great. I'm not sure if it's set to search topics/posts only, use multiple words correctly, or what. The search parameters are locked down for simplification-sake, thus it's only meant to be a rough tool.
Google searching with this domain only would probably yield better results.

He probably hadn't considered the current state of the server and everything and wanted to post this at an earlier time but couldn't due to the server failure.

I guess. Maybe he just up and posted it not caring what was going on elsewhere. Regardless of why he chose now to post it, there is nothing that can be done about it, correct?

Attempt to prevent it from happening needlessly in the future? I'm sure many things can be done about it.
