Is that the form? What does the Non Super Saiyan form look like? And I do remember that originally SSJs are supposed to have red eyes, so maybe it is another rendition.

His hair is blueish white, his skin turns dark red and his eyes turns red.
Also as long as he stays like that, he absorbs energy of all living things round him to the point of killing everything.
He also becomes pretty much immortal.
So how is that a copy of Super Saiyan?
Honestly you shouldn't compare Super Saiyan to everything, because if you do you'll get this reaction.

With Sonic its different though. They actually did copy Super Saiyan for the Super Sonic form, and expanded on that for Hyper Sonic.

Toriyama's original design had RED eyes. Looky here. Anyway, the concept of color changing transformations with anything as far as appearance to show "power" in anime isn't uncommon, BUT this isn't far off from a Super Saiyan. Just Saiyan.
