Some more bbc documentaries presented by professor Michio Kaku.

A series about the 3 revolutions that are taking place in this century. Artificial intelligence, biotech and nanotechnology. (3 parts)

Not all of it is for the near future but some of that stuff sounds scary and makes you wonder if we'll be able to handle it all. I'm trusting the power of humanity as a whole though. There will always be some nutcases running loose.

And then a series about time, how we can live beyond our human lives and beyond the life of our sun and even the universe. Powerful stuff. Definitely food for thought. (4 parts)

So who actually is watching these? Or am I justing posting these amazing videos for nothing? Let me know.

I haven't watched these yet because I'd probably mishear a lot of things. Anyway found these videos in my language so I'll probably watch them tomorrow (maybe today).

Postscript: Yeah, I'm the only one my age who enjoys documentaries >.>

You do realize that you live in an age where an experienced enough hacker can pretty much slam the handbrake on your car by hacking I though the radio waves that are received by that little box that plays your music while you drive. Tested and possible provided the car is new enough to have computer controlled breaking systems. And you think "what if" scenarrios are scary?

Ill find the video when I'm home. Still at work for another 4 hours, then I have 7 hours of sleep before I leave for work again. So I'll probably post it in 20 hours or so.

Well I meant scary in the sense of the fate of humanity as a whole, not the petty worry about personal safety.

@esfer: You're the only one? What kind of crowd do you hang out with? A bunch of ostriches with their head in the sand? If you want to be a man of the world you need to know about this stuff and expand your horizon.

And this is the problem with technology, as it gets more complex and it gets to do more intricate stuff ( like the car's computer for example which Zeth mentioned, I mean its responsible for everything, fuel mixture, ignition and so on ) the hackers find more ways to play around with it, I mean if they can hack into the pentagon they can surely hack in your future "smart" house.

This is a good example of what it would be like:
