Before you get started. MAKE BACKUPS.
Just to clarify.
The default.phys contains the actual attack. (attack damage, damage type, speed, acceleration, explosion type, trajectory, and explosion lifetime/duration etc.) It also includes the tier/transformation you have to be in to use it. Goku has to be in his normal state to use the Spirit Bomb, and Super Saiyan 3 to use the dragon fist, so... Yunno
If you want to make a beam that you can control after firing, open the default.phys of a character that has it. Then, you copy, paste, and edit.
The default.grfx has the visual attack settings. What it looks like and stuff. It's the difference between the Spirit Bomb and the special beam cannon (size, size increases/decreases, color, beam color, beam type trail color, trail type etc.) Everybody love's Vegeta's purple galick gun, right? So we need to take a look at his default.grfx before we apply that color and shader to someone else.
When it comes to making your own colors and stuff, it helps to know where everybody got theirs. After that, it's all copy and pasting from there broham.
