USA election tomorrow!
Who can catch all the references in this awesome video!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pJTn5n1jKg&feature=channel&list=UL
I'd like to add that here in Belgium polls say 90% would vote for Obama.
And yes these elections do matter to the rest of the world. We are in a global economic crisis and the US has a great effect on all of us. slam DowJones! And yes they are one of the top polluting countries, the climate needs to be saved! Green energy is the future.

Well crisis is everywhere right now. It's not right to blame the current leading politicians. You should blame Berlusconi instead.
Also Obama is still right/liberal if you compare him to Europe. Yes Europe is social but that's not communism yet either. The greatest economies in the world are in Scandanavia by the way, who are also very social and progressive. They really care about the climate too.
Also it's not a good idea to call yourself a hierarchical supporter.

I wouldn't blame anyone if they hated Americans because of the US government. Heck, I dislike most of the things that my government does. In the end, it all comes back to bite us in the rear every 10 or so years.

I honestly would prefer Obama over Romney... I can SEE Obama trying to do some good, but Romney... he seems like your average business dealer type of politician.
I'd prefer a president who does not compromise every essential aspect of a successful plan only to end up with another butchered-up law that does nothing but allow workarounds in the system. Sure, Obama had compromised a lot of his policies, but he was very reluctant to do so.
Anyway, I'm not voting because... well, I don't see how I can change anything other than having the next president in office. I mean, I can't see how they get anything done. :\

You should vote link. These are one of the most crucial elections in years. If not for yourself, vote for Obama for me. He's making health care possible for everyone in your country. I believe that to be a human right. Every civilized country in the world has a system like that in place. It's astounding that America didn't already. The insurance companies that are in place now are just there to take your money and make a profit, not to help you get better.
Another example is, Romney is going to keep drilling for oil until there's none left and we are without a good solution for energy. He wants to keep using coal plants and keep polluting. He wants to live in the past, stick with what used to work.
Obama wants to invest in temporary more green solutions like wind energy and invest in education and science. He's buying time to in the future come up with new ways to get the world clean energy. In other words he's trying to find solutions to the problems we are going to face in the 21st century.

Maybe you're thinking of the unlimited detainment bill in military prisons, because that one passed in december. You're going to have to start supplying proof before stating these outrageous claims Laguna..

Well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but I didn't register to vote when I was supposed to. So I really can't vote at all this election. :\
As for Obama's health care bill, Obama wouldn't have been able to pass it the way he thought it best. Congress just loves putting revisions and loopholes to every bill before it can become a law. That's why I thought legislation is lacking in identifiable function these days.
Before this election, I didn't realize the full extent that US elections have on the rest of the world, and I still don't get everything. Otherwise, I would have registered to vote.
Thing is, I think I would hardly have made a difference in a Republican-dominated state like Texas. My whole family seems more Republican than Democrat.
Seeing as how the US is dominated by a capitalist economy, most people (including me) view the government as being heavily influenced by business PACs (Political Action Committees), so that is a big problem with elections; people don't talk about politics enough to understand they still have a voice. Many Americans think their votes won't make much (if any) impact on government.
So... sorry I couldn't vote for your sake, TRL.

typical white boy
Your comment was very derogatory... I'm white. And the "typical white boy" is overgeneralized. There is no way to instate a norm for any individual, whether they are white, brown, black, yellow, practitioner of spiritual science, Atheist...
Just focus on the qualities of the individual, and don't compare them to the rest of the people with the same skin color.

Race has nothing to do with it Realdeal. Also Obama is equally white as he is black. His mother was white, his father was black.
@Link: Ah yeah I see. Living in texas must be a bit demotivational to be democratic. But change has to start somewhere as you are a new generation. Also a vote always counts even in a system where a party wins in a state by 51% all votes go to that party. Just by upping the percentage of voters who voted for the other party the winning party will consider inputting more political centered policies to get some of those "lost" voters back. So in other words, Texas might remain republican, but it might become more moderate republican by more people voting democratic. So in a way that's already a win and politics is always about compromise anyway.
I agree having a republican dominant congress is detrimental to a democratic president actually getting things done, but at least there's a still system for balance that way.
Anyway I expect the global economic crisis to end in the coming 4 years and Obama will finally be able to reek what he has sown. If he doesn't win, Romney will claim it was his doing. :/

If it's not related to creative divergency or forward abstract thinking of some kind, I do not attach worth. This means traditional systems & values of any kind -- politics included.
One can't truly change the course of history by repeating the past.

I had a hunch you were anti-government, though for a slightly different reason than you offered.
I've always had a distaste for government of any kind, but I've never had a solid reason other than ignorance of political events (which isn't even that good of a reason *intense laughter*).
