You guys remember "YO! Son Goku and his friends return" ? With tarble (Vegetas Brother)
After watching this, it kind of shows that an upcoming movie was coming, if you watch Battle of the Lloyds already, you'd see that the plot is very similar.
Enemies arrived--->Instead of killing, they all became friends and had a feast at the end. Crazy huh?

this movie born just for the fans .. for the business..for the money..to show that dragonball isn't dead and the story continue.. BUT heck is really not the dragonball of the past the true dragonball..
just like the walt disney(the good old times) of the hand painted repleaced now by the new technologies that make all so general and without the peronality..

Well it's not entirely like Disney yet, Toriyama's not dead yet.
I think the animators kind of have the same feeling as you. Toriyama's drawing style changed a lot in all these years and in the movie they tried to bring the style back to more of the Buu saga. Toriyama tends to draw everyone super skinny now, that might be one of the explanations of why Super Saiyan lloyd is skinny like that.

Guess he got too used to his Dragon Quest style and it leaked into Dragon Ball. Oh well. At least Yamamuro still got it... sorta. I liked Yamamuro back then better though.

If you are referring to the tone and atmosphere of the movie, then its closer to Dragonball than half of Z ever was.
Dragonball was a goofy story about a goofy kid on an adventure that's based on the journey to the west chineese story. It was a comedy with action elements, and the movie captures that nicely. Just cause you preferred the more action orientated Dragon Ball Z side to it doesn't make it any less Dragonball, and if anything it makes it closer to the original.

He doesn't seem like the only one who's shorter and younger looking. Nearly all the female characters in those pictures look like they've regressed back into their early teens, Videl for example looks more like she's about 11 or 12 years old in them, and Chi-Chi, Bulma, and 18 don't seem too far from that age range either...
Did they all grab the dragon balls and wish for youth or something between movies...?

Did they all grab the dragon balls and wish for youth or something between movies...? I'm pretty sure that it's Pan who you're talking about here, and she should indeed be about 12 years old in this movie. I can't spot Videl anywhere.

Nah that's Videl man. It's not happening at the end of z. Pan isn't even born yet.
Yeah they really do all look younger with the huge heads and skinny arms. I guess Toriyama kina went back to his roots with the more comical look. He also tends to draw eyes further apart now.
