People, let him like what he wants (he's 14 by the way). I personally believe that he is WAY too old to be watching such kiddie movies like this.

You're never too old to enjoy a good "kiddy" movie.
I've watched the first How to Train Your Dragon movie multiple times now, and I actually think it's a good movie no matter what your age(assuming you like a feel-good happily ever after type movie). Then again, most of what I do when I watch these types of CG movies is study how they make them so I can try to apply some of those techniques to my own modeling/animation.
Besides, at least he was watching this, and not the various Tinkerbell movies like someone else around here was guiltily watching through Netflix a few months ago... (It was for research! Honest!)

What are you guys talking about? I was excited for Monsters University, only because I loved the first as a kid, and I loved the first HTTYD..

I do agree that 'kiddie' movies can be enjoyable at any age, but How to Train Your Dragon wasn't really appealing to me. I prefer older ones
Also don't be shy, Tinkerbell is for all ages, rite?

I'm 29 and I catch most Pixar or 3D Disney movies. They are simply brimming with artistic quality and composure. What exactly are you qualifying as a kiddie movie and why do you feel this is a derogative term? A movie focusing on social values and quasi-real-world scenarios has a lot more to offer than something focusing purely based on fictionally detached sexual/violent themes -- which aren't "adult" as much as they are carnal.
Being an adult has distinct meaning from person to person. What our society or a particular culture may accept as being grown-up will change over time and often differ by region; however, this is a completely different ideology from how you choose to define your own matured individuality.
