the KameHameHa beam is MDave's work.

When my brother saw that, he did a backflip.
Now bit more serious, I think you can't really judge it until it's ingame with a finished map and characters.
I for one, am interested how the beam will affect the lightning of the map. Like in the inspiration screenshot, the background gets dark and blurred.

The inspiration thread features brushed concept images. ZEQ2 is based on pure series accuracy. The series very rarely employs such a style of brushwork ONLY in still frames usually found at the ends of episodes.

Isolated darkness, yes, yes, accurate to the series, remember? Hehe.

Given all shadery gooness, it might be interesting to give the option to have "True to series" graphics, effects and shading, a "True to manga" one and a "Artistic Brushwork" type shading.Could be funky

That could nice as an addon, only after a release.
For now ZEQ2 is purely accurate to the series =)

uhm, I would suggest to make the blue "sprite" or "effect" over the white animated mesh more glow alike.
I mean, if you look at it it looks like the blue doesnt flow into the beam. looks somehow apart of it.
keep it up.

Someone can predict the future, I see.

Of course. This is also why we entitled it as a "Work in Progress" . The technique still has a little way to go before it sees the light of day for our accuracy thirsty fanatical followers.
ven those in Budokai Series don't look better. Only amazing!
The Budokai series (and other projects) don't have a focus for accuracy. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just a different approach. Some choose to overhaul modern shader effects and particle systems rather than surgically perfect a hand-crafted effect.

The only thing that bothers me about it is that I always thought the Kamehamehas had a "greener" shade of blue than this. This blue seems a bit light in tone, and a bit too far toward the purple extreme of blue. I may be wrong. Otherwise, it's certainly better looking than any of ESF's sprites, and FAR better than DB:S's lackluster beam effects.

The color schemes of the Kamehameha are dependent on a number of factorable conditions. It highly depends on the saga, encoding process, and other actual lighting conditions present. Additionally, the effect shown in the video is purely work in progress as mentioned in the progress thread. It'll attain improvement.

Well really I believe that you guys will come through on this project. This is the first project I've seen that out of everything you guys went through, you're all still standing stronger.
ZEQ2 Will be an awesome game to play. Who knows you might even teach Atari a thing or two eh?
Awesome Kamehameha by the way though.

Chances are it'll bend in the non-q3 build too
