Yea I think around then..it's when I first got into multiplayer gaming. Ah.. the days when I didn't know what "*laughing out loud*" meant... It's kind of funny cause I knew when to use it, but I didn't know what it meant ;P I also played JK on the Zone after Heat went down, but I preferred it on Heat, it seemed very much like an intel vs amd type arguement as to which one should be played on. Too bad they closed down though, it was such a good concept.

Dragon Raja - Best free MMO ever . I enjoyed it much more than the costly and time-consuming online rpg's that plague the earth today. Shame they sorta went crazy, started charging, acted like they did not exist, and now secretely have korean only servers. If you try to sneak on, be sure not to speak a lick of English, they have spies following suspicious players -- thus you will be banned if they know you are English.
I used to have like 6 computers linked up with Dragon Raja in my room. Most were just dummy computers that had special purposes. Using the trusty 'rubber band and wrench trick', I managed to set up a nice jerry-rigged "macro" .
The game had so much freedom. Anyone could attack anyone and anything anywhere. Inside towns guards or other players would quickly pounce on any other player that attacked or was flagged as a villian. I do remember that outside the first realm, no rules applied.
While hunting orcs at about level 30 with 12 or so other people, we'd have to be careful. You would see a 'predator'-like siloette distorting reality as they walked. You might try and scream "PK'ER!", but it was mostly far too late. They would pounce, unleashing a devasting storm of projectiles or spells towards everything in the path.
Those with built up speed, would take off running to try and lure the pk'er off, survive, or just simply go find someone to help. Very RARELY the runner, if he survived, could drag along a friendly high-level group to help out. Most of the time, we had to plan to have our own 'counter PKER' hiding in the bushes waiting for villians to come around.
Later on though when I set up multiple computers, I hid a monk south in the gold mines (yes -- you can actually mine resources). After everyone died you can see them as ghosts walking about. Basically we directed them to my monk (other computer) who ressurected everyone. Normally to be ressurected, you have to find your church, walk in, and say a complicated blessing "By the rose of Thawart the great, bring life to these humble ..." -- or something along those lines.
Anyhoo. Enough nostalgia for now, I guess
