Windwaker style port? I like it and I dislike it.

It seems like a pseudo-perespective game. I enjoy the fact that they re-kindled the vintage gameplay by going with a top-down overview '2D' camera. However, that's clashing totally with the pure 3D scenes.

It breaks the fundamental rule of the consistency element in a classic adventure game.

am sorry but I have to disagree...most zelda games are NOT awesome (this only includes theones I have played which are the ones before they did that celshaded one for the cube)
I don't really understand why people like them. but I know a lot do just because it's one of the games they grew up with.

The 2d zelda games from before, for the hand held and the old nintendo platform are alright...but I don't find them that special... the one that nnoys me the most is the one thats considered to be one of the greatest games of all time.. the orcarina of time.... arg!!!

personnally I did not find the plot very apealing. the orcarina, didn't make too much sense to me. the puzzles...lloyd...sure...it's fun for the first dungeon..but then when you are pushing block over and over...it get boring. one good thing I thought was good..where the boss fights. they were kinda fun.

I am not saying that it was a really zippy game, only that it's not THAT great.

=/ that jut my opinion tho, I would really like to hear a good explanination form someone as to why it is that great of a game tho. most people I've tried to dicuss this are leaping lizard and never explain why it's good... =/ "how can you not like that game" or they think that I am an leaping lizard for not liking it..>_> and that doesn't really help me to understand why it's a good game.

As for that video, it does look interesting. and I do like the graphics. =)

What I always liked about zelda games, is the puzzels in it, stories are nice but not of FinaLFantasy Quality.
Its the same reason I didnt like WindWaker that much, game was too short puzzles too easy and the bossfights pretty easy as well...

For Ocarina of time, well, I didnt grew up with it, neither did I with the old zelda games, like a link to the past and stuff like that, Cause im a hardcore SEGA-fan.

I grew up with Sonic Very Happy SO I never really got in the old Snes games and I don't like those while others find em the greatest thing every invented. I heard about 'zelda' first time about 8 years ago when OoT came out. I always thought Zelda was that dude you played Razz
Anyways I didnt have a N64 so I never could play the game, but I saw it at some friends houses, and it looked cool, though I didnt understand one thing about playing the songs or traveling in time.

When I got my GC, I had checked out Zelda many times on emulators and started to like it. THough I could never finish OoT because of a bug that didnt let me through the doors Zelda openened in the end. But I really enjoyed the game cause I like fantasy and the puzzles and the long gameplay. But I always liked those kind of games. Its not just zelda.

AAAAANYWAYS, I did anticipate for WindWaker but I didnt like it that much, I just kept collecting the figurines instead of finishing it cause it was so short Razz

And now im just waiting for the Twilight Princess Very Happy

sorry but you are a uninformed participator to gaming. -nods head-

Or you just like Sony and think Nintendo as "Kitty" ;]

You probably just don't like Ocarina of Time, because it's not really 'your genre'. The older top-down games in the series were much heavier on the action, whereas OoT concentrates more on exploration and puzzling.

Plotwise, the ocarina itself, well yeah; that really did come out of nowhere. But it's no weirder than the deus ex machina appearance of artifacts in other games. You shouldn't really hold that against the game. (Though I confess I always was left wondering how Zelda got her hands on the Ocarina before she tossed it into the moat for Link to find.)

I guess it could be just that I don't' like thta type of genre...but then..I don't really dislike puzzles games that much.

but like the genre of a game usually doesn't stop me from engoying a good game... two of my favorite games are CS, and ff7, and I was never a big fan of rpg's, or of fps's. If a game is good enoiugh to end up in the top 5 of about every gamelisting...I would expect that it could still be able to impress me some what.

not that I also played it long after it came out, but it's te same with ff7 and CS.

Zelda is over-rated, but good. Over-rated nonetheless though. Just like FF7, more of a fanbase, more of the "I dislike" fanbase.

Love the analogy with FF7. It's true as well. Smile

May the burning FF7-fandom crusade shelter your unworthy thoughts and clean your evil soul >.>
I often hear this nowdays and I still can't understand it.FF7 had a fantastic story(best up to date if someone cares about my opinion),great chars and the technic was also a big step forward back than(all this nostalgic just thinking about the freaking name makes me nuts >_>).

Nah don't want to start a discussion about this, just wanted to show the opinion of some of this little kiddys who overrate FF7 and also OoC.
Its just a matter of taste, you can't give a real explanation for that.

But that still doesnt stop it from having one basic plot. Some random main hero, saves the world from destruction.

You can base every game on that because there are just 2 scenarios, rescue or destroy.
Random hero?No in both, play the games till the end.
