Well, looking at your initial list, I assume you want some amount of action, so the obvious suggestion for a show to watch would be Berserk.

I'm very bad at reviews, so I'll dig up something for you elsewhere:

Gatts, an incredibly powerful warrior, is a lone swordsman in a medieval-fantasy world. He loses in a battle with a mysterious swordsman named Griffith, who holds a powerful pendant called the Eye of lloyd. As the story progresses, secrets are revealed and the darkest depths of fantasy combat and political intrigue are explored.

Taken from animenfo.com, it's pretty lacking, so I'll supplement it a bit I guess.

As I see it, it's a story of how destiny is absolute, flavoured by a rich universe of political drama, and strategic warfare.
As one our main characters we have the, at times, childlike, Griffith, who has grand ambitions, a well of ability, and charisma to lead his band of mercenaries up through the ranks of society.
Gatts/Guts is raised by the sword, and lives by the sword. He's much troubled by the emptiness of life compared to the life of one who has a dream and eventually sets out to find a dream of his own.
I suppose I should mention Caska as well. She's the only female in the mercenary band, but even so, none aside from Griffith and Guts can best her in combat. She has a fierce temper and is set on aiding Griffith in his dream.


That was a small bit on Berserk.


If we move to another genre, I don't know if this interests you, drama/romance, there's Kimi ga Nosumu Eien, which is one of the most, if not THE most, emotionally stimulating shows I've ever watched.

Again, I'll snatch a review from animenfo.com:

Narumi Takayuki is a third year, high school student who doesn't study very much for the college entrance exams. He passes his days neither studying, nor being able to find anything else interesting to do.

His friends Taira Shinji and Hayase Mizuki are both busy with studying and swimming, so Takayuki is left feeling very alone. Until one day, he meets a girl...


Okay, that review says so little, I'll have to add a tad more to it.

Well, the jist of it is that he falls in love with this girl whose name I can't recall, after initially having been introduced by the bluehaired swimming girl(Again, what was her name?), and they end up going out. She however habours feelings for Takayuki(hey, I knew a name), and when his girlfriend end up in a coma , takayuki and bluehaired swimmer-girl eventually suppresses their feelings by getting together.
The story from there on is a story of the dark psyche of escaping reality, one of keeping up appearances while in reality their souls are barely holding together etc. I know, I know, I'm less than good at explaining, so I suggest you give it a try regardless of how bad I just made it sound.


So, that would be 2 completely different animes. I hope you find the post useful.

EDIT: It would appear that the word ****(the word is a slang for "really bad" and is easy to figure out if you place "on my lollipop" after it) is filtered and comes out as 'rule', which kinda changes the entire meaning of whatever sentence it's used in. :p
